Openair-Plasma® for e-mobility
Plasmatreat Italia will be exhibiting innovative plasma systems and equipment for the reliable pretreatment of materials at E-Tech Europe in Hall 21, Stand A39-B40. A particular highlight of the stand will be the Plasma Treatment Unit (PTU), a state-of-the-art system with Openair-Plasma® and PlasmaPlus® technology that can be integrated in-line with production processes or used as a stand-alone solution.
Equipped with Openair-Plasma® and PlasmaPlus®, the PTU enables precise surface treatment by cleaning, activating and functional coating a wide range of materials such as plastic, glass or metal. Only compressed air and electricity are required to generate plasma. Openair-Plasma® has been used successfully for years in industries such as automotive, electronics, appliance and life sciences to bond headlight housings, print control panels, coat displays and manufacture medical devices.
The presentation will also focus on applications for battery production. Plasma technology is used to clean and activate cell surfaces prior to painting or film coating, prior to cell-to-cell bonding, and to clean battery contacts prior to wire bonding. The PlasmaPlus® coating on battery cases provides highly reliable corrosion protection - an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional processes such as waxing or electroplating.
Plasmatreat Italia will also show how Openair-Plasma® is used in interior applications, such as laminating plastic dashboards. Here, plasma activation replaces environmentally harmful flame treatment, reducing both CO₂ emissions and heat input into the substrate. This enables thinner-walled components and supports automotive lightweighting.
