The number of substrate-adhesive combinations is also growing daily, and they are often challenging. Adhesives that have the right mechanical properties, such as strength or elongation, for a specific application do not always harmonize with the material surface. Therefore, they might not achieve the required bond strength because the chemistry between the adhesive and the material is not right.

With Openair Plasma® technology, you can pretreat and prepare your product and produce long-term stable bonds, e.g. bonding between the car body and the windshield or rear window, the accident-proof integration of the battery tray in an electric vehicle or the weatherproof sealing of solar modules.

In this PlasmaTalk, Klaus Kresser, Global Market Segment Manager Bonding Applications at Plasmatreat, explains how solvent-free adhesion promotion can be realized with Openair-Plasma® technology in an inline and continuous process without drying time. Another focus is the Plasma polymerization with the PlasmaPlus® process is already being used successfully for surface coating in many different industrial applications.

After attending this PlasmaTalk, you will know more about:

  • Differentiation of plasma pretreatment from other pretreatment methods
  • Knowledge of the influences and adhesion mechanisms of plasma treatment, in particular e.g. for:
  • permanent bonding of materials for the transmission of forces
  • preparation of surfaces for particularly fast reacting adhesives
  • Overview of specific applications where PlasmaPlus® opens up new possibilities
  • Practical examples

This no-charge PlasmaTalk is aimed at research, development and quality control personnel as well as designers, process engineers and operators of production equipment in industrial processes.
The PlasmaTalk will last approximately 40-60 minutes plus a question-and-answer session. If you have a specific question, please send it in advance to academy@plasmatreat.de so that we can incorporate it into the program.
